Payroll in the news 5.15.2023

Good day folks. I'm your host, Brian Escobar, and this is Payroll in the News from Monday, May 15th, 2023. Today's stories are about innovation and celebration in the payroll world. Our first story is about Atomic. A leading provider of payroll integrations has unveiled Smart Auth, a new artificial intelligent powered authentication engine.

Smart OTH is trained on thousands of real login examples to detect and tackle the necessary steps for successful authentications. As login experiences inevitably change over time, smart OTH uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to identify the required interactions and adapt. With smart oth, we can now offer our customers a truly seamless.

And hassle-free authentication experience while reducing development time and increasing scalability set. Jordan Wright, co-founder and c e o of Atomic. In some places we've seen conversion rates in the range of two to three x improvement by leveraging AI to help us provide consumers with access to their own data.

Again folks, we see AI continuing to impact the payroll world.

Our second story is about a company named Salsa. Not like the sauce, like the dance, I don't know really, but it's salsa. Anyway, a startup that allows software platforms to embed and launch payroll features inside their own products announced it has raised 10 million in funding to modernize the way workers get paid.

Salsa enables developers to easily add revenue generating payroll solutions inside their own software products, so that they can offer their customers an all in one experiencing when managing their businesses. Today, many businesses run on software platforms that help them with everything from marketing to internal operations.

Despite this payroll has been one business process that still remains with the standalone provider, meaning business owners can't pay their workers in the same software that they manage their team in Sasa is looking to become the first solution for many different types of platforms that serve every industry.

Salsa's APIs can easily be embedded into platforms such as point of sale systems, a scheduling software, booking platforms, neobank freight management system. Sasa takes the complexity out of payroll for these platforms by handling all of the compliance calculations, tax filing, money movement, so that software applications can focus on inventing a better payroll product experience for their business owners.

Exciting things going on in the world, the payroll, and of course the name Sasa is awesome. , but no, for real guys, this is really exciting. You know now folks that have these platforms that they're monetizing for their clients. They can also monetize a payroll solution for this as well. This stuff is exciting.

Payroll is really grown by leaps and bounds. I'd love to be here to report it to you guys, folks. , let's look out for that as well.

For our third story, we're talking about celebration. Israel is celebrating their 75th anniversary, and California now serves as the global or US headquarters for 35.

Israeli founded. Unicorns, privately held companies valued at 1 billion or more. According to the United States Israeli Business Alliance anchored by a dynamic cluster in Silicon Valley, the 35 Israeli founded unicorns marked the most ever at one time. In a state, the total value of nation 4 35 unicorn amounts to about 115 billion.

That puts the average company at a value of 3.3 billion. The three Israeli founded companies with the highest valuations in the US all have their global or US headquarters in California and all happen to be related to finance and or payroll. The companies are rapid at a 15 billion val valuation. You gotta start a ST starter because it's billions that we're talking here.

Deal, which is valued at 12 billion and gusto. Valued at

10 billion.

This story was special to me because I have some good friends from Israel. So shout out to Israel. Shout out to all my people from the Galaxy of Queens, New York.
